There are countless books regarding genocide from non-fiction, to historical fiction, and memoirs. Here are a few suggestions of ones that I’ve read recently regarding Cambodia, as well as a few worthy others.
If you’re in the market to buy a book, might I encourage you to support an independent bookstore? The extra couple of dollars seems a small price to pay to keep a little originality around. Not only do they provide a unique space, but unlike many chains, they do not sell prime retail space to publishers wanting to promote certain books. Plus, I think my mother and sister have a great bookstore! http://www.wherethesidewalkends.booksense.com

Hi, Courtney!I’m Joaquin, one of Sevillian Caitlin’s friends. It was she who sent me your bloglink. Wow! It’s the BEST blog I’ve ever visited. My God, you write so good! Your descriptions are outstanding good. Now I’ve experienced myself why you were able to get a Fullbright scholarship. You could write a travel book! I’m very happy that you are travelling so much. It must be very very interesting. It was a very good idea, too, to type the link to your family’s bookstore. I’m back from Germany now, it was great there last year, and now I’m already finished with my degree. Meanwhile I’m learning English again, because I’ve forgotten so much! That was the problem of using another foreign language (German) one whole year: I strongly believe human’s brain has capacity only for one foreign language at a time!
So, I wish you all the best, and hope that you return safe and sound to your country.
Best wishes,
Joaquín
